INITIATIVES: THE OPPORTUNITY
Hyphen was formed at a moment of historic public investment through the American Rescue Plan, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act, which are collectively deploying $3.8 trillion to American communities. While these historic investments have the potential to transform the lives of millions of low-income and underserved Americans and their families, that potential can only be fully realized with strategic philanthropic co-investments to advance economic, climate, workforce, and equity goals. Responding to this once-in-a-generation opportunity, Hyphen spearheaded initiatives to engage philanthropy in leveraging historic federal funding and maximizing the impact for underserved communities.
