ABOUT US

With racial equity as the driving force, Hyphen maximizes the impact of historic federal policies, including the American Rescue Plan (ARP), the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Hyphen’s primary goal is to accelerate structural change and to improve the material conditions of low-income communities, communities of color, and other historically underserved communities. Since our inception, Hyphen and our partners have leveraged more than $977 million* in public and private funding, as well as laid the groundwork for over $200 million in philanthropic commitments, to strengthen public safety, expand economic opportunity, address climate change, and ensure that the rebuilding of the nation’s infrastructure leads to equitable outcomes.

* Includes over $215 million for underserved small businesses and over $761 million for community violence interventions.

WHAT WE DO

Multi-Sector Partnerships and Collaborations to Achieve Equitable Outcomes for All

Hyphen develops public-private co-investment strategies and catalyzes multi-sector partnerships and collaborations. We engage the administration, federal agencies, the philanthropic sector, state and local governments, corporations, and the nonprofit sector to support effective deployment of unprecedented federal resources to address the most urgent issues facing our nation. Our goal is to advance long-term solutions that accelerate structural change and achieve greater equity for underserved communities and our broader society.
Launched in spring 2021, Hyphen is a nonprofit intermediary powered by
Panorama Global.
