KATIE HONG

Partnership Advisor

Katie Hong (she/her) has worked in the philanthropic, nonprofit and government sectors for over 25+ years and is now Principal at KH Consulting, LLC where she is coaching senior leaders and supporting collective efforts that are advancing racial equity and social justice.

Hong’s most recently served as Program Director at the Raikes Foundation, where she supported local, state and national communities to equitably prevent and end homelessness for unaccompanied youth and young adults; and expand educational and employment opportunities for opportunity youth (youth ages 16-24) who are not currently working or in school. Previously, Hong led the Pacific Northwest Initiative at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In the public sector, Hong held a number of key positions including Director for the City of Seattle’s Office of Housing, Senior Policy Advisor to Washington State Governor Gary Locke and Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels and as a Program Examiner in the Office of Management and Budget for President Bill Clinton.

 

Hong has a Master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago and her BA from University of California at Berkeley.  Hong served as a White House Fellow in the White House Chief of Staff’s from 2000-2001. She is on the Board of Citizen University and was the past Board Chair for Funders Together to End Homelessness; a graduate of the Billions Institute’s Mastery Fellowship program and a certified Big Leap coach from the Hendricks Institute. Hong also completed the Online Organizational Development Certification Program (ODCP) from the Institute of Organizational Development and recently completed the Leadership Circle Profile Certification.
